Menu Idle view | The Miller
During the final quarter of the second year me and a group of 6 other students were tasked to create a horror game based on local folklore for a client. Over the next 9 weeks we would work on the game with weekly project updates to teachers and the client.
The game is based on folklore surrounding the Northern Mill in Twickel, Overijssel. Back in the 1500s there was a miller who committed suicide by throwing himself into the water mill and supposedly haunted the place ever since. After some brainstorming for ideas on what to do with this base, the group came up with a spin on the story to turn it into a murder, and the miller haunts the place to seek revenge on his murderers. Throughout the game you slowly figure out what truly happened as the miller hunts you down in an attempt to suffice his rage.
