During the second year, each quarter, students were given the chance to work on a project of their own to strengthen their individual skills in specific areas. For me, this was done via the creation of a game and its launch on steam. During the third quarter I created a game, known as Cypher Override, I performed user tests, collected feedback and iterated on the work. A detailed document on this process can be found here. The fourth quarter was mostly spent on researching how to release a game on steam, different marketing strategies and the creation of promotional material for the game. Alongside the creation of the store page I also created a detailed document documenting the process which can be found here.
The game is a simple yet addicting arcade style clicking game where precision and speed meets quick thinking. The game’s premise is simple: Change all the target squares. With 3 different modes to play the game in, one of which is a custom mode, the user can play the game as they want, offering a time trial of 60 seconds and an endless mode next to it.
